Ride Solar
Established in 2015, Ride Solar is a private sector solution to an ongoing government commitment to reducing greenhouse gasses to achieve net-zero by 2040. The first Canadian company to offer both land & water tours via solar-electric vehicles, Ride Solar has reclaimed, rebuilt & repowered a 1967 CDN Heritage Vessel from the 1967 Montreal Expo into North America’s LARGEST solar-powered boat & the world’s FIRST solar-powered dinner cruise boat in Charlottetown and built the world’s FIRST solar-powered, 14 passenger pedal bus in Charlottetown to offer food & drink historical eco-tours to those who like to have fun while saving the planet.

Solar Boat Rides
Relax on a fun, 90 min tour on the beautiful Charlottetown Harbour on North America’s LARGEST solar-powered boat – the world’s FIRST solar-powered dinner cruise boat! Your harbour cruise includes PEI history, the technology used on the boat & the quirky 58 yr history of this CDN Heritage Vessel, which originated at the famous 1967 Montreal Expo. Supported with 4 video screens, large opening windows, opening roof hatches, comfortable social seating, large bathroom and a licensed kitchen, this vessel does it all in style for a unique experience that you can’t do anywhere else in the world. All tours have fresh Island lobster, chicken, Caesar salads, hotdogs, cheesecake & more available for pre-order with your tour ticket. Drinks may be purchased on board.
Solar Pedal Bus
And now for something completely different – take a ride on a solar-powered licensed Party Bike (Pedal Bus) along the Charlottetown waterfront to visit some of PEI’s best pubs and most scenic/historic venues! The FIRST pedal bus tour in Atlantic Canada, Ride Solar’s unique tour offers up to 14 passengers an opportunity to easily pedal your way to various pubs, restaurants, and unique sight-seeing/historic locations throughout the birthplace of Canada. This four-wheeled “bike” is powered by a bit of easy pedaling or via our electric motors powered by the sun and the 2.5 hr tour includes two pub/restaurant stops with food & drink specials for our riders. Ice cold alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages are available to purchase & drink right on the bike!
