Prince Edward Island – wow!

Welcoming, friendly, great people, beautiful Island, excellent conference and meeting spaces, wonderful food and beverage, great activities to add onto any meeting, and a wonderful leisure destination. The next golf trip I organize will have PEI in the mix – food, fun, golf, scenery – it doesn’t get much better. However, all these amazing offerings are outshone by the people. Yes, most Canadians are friendly, welcoming, and will go the extra mile. That’s what makes us special. However, how many will go the extra 185 miles (300K return)…. not many, which is why I tell this story over and over again. I was in Saint John, and had to go to Charlottetown, PEI. The team at Saint John, Shawna and Victoria, decided (behind the scenes) that I didn’t need to rent a car – that they would coordinate, with Meetings and Conventions PEI, to get me from Saint John to Charlottetown. Victoria drove me to Moncton and handed me off to Mary-Helen, PEI, who also drove 300K return. I was so overwhelmed, I was speechless. Imagine, two people, taking 3 to 4 hours from their time off, to do this…. That is over the top Maritime hospitality. Thank you Mary-Helen, for taking the time to drive to Moncton, and then back to Charlottetown. , thank you Meetings and Conventions, PEI, and Discover Saint John, I can’t wait to bring business to your beautiful cities and provinces. Hospitality that I will remember forever, and tell as many times as possible.Dawn Donahue & Chef Michael Smith
